Preventive conservation
There is no standard way how to protect and to prolong the remaining service life of damaged plastic items.
Any attempt to slow down their deterioration often may cause more problems than doing nothing. At present, the most effective interventions are preventive-displaying at risk items in a cool, low light environment with stable humidity, for example.
